Subsistence

What I did right in Subsistence? 

I made a campfire, and stayed near my camp while searching for food, water and supplies.

What I did wrong?

I tended to panic and waste my bullets when I was attacked, needless to say, I died a few times.

Tips and tricks?

To reload, press R.

Some of my classmates where having trouble, seeing bullets in their inventory, and not in their clip, so make sure you go into CONTROLS, look at the hotkeys for things.

Craft a campfire.

Make sure to craft a campfire, you'll need one to stay alive at night. You'll need two sticks and two logs. Once you have one, go searching for matches. They'll be in the med bags around the map.

Get basic supplies, don't go for end game stuff to soon.

I tried to make a shotgun the first time I spawned, I ended up getting killed by a bear while searching for scrap metal.

Use headphones.

The game is 10x easier when you have headphones, the animals growl when you get to close, you'll hear little animals run past you so you can catch and eat them, you'll hear the beautiful sounds of the forest as you pass through while scavenging.

How to start.

Your first priority should be food and a campfire to survive the night. Make sure to look for and open the loot caches you find along the way, they contain useful stuff. Day two should be used for making a shelter.
